Sisters,

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. After reading multiple analyses of the so-called Big Beautiful Bill, I can tell you there isn’t a darn thing beautiful about it. Unless you think the images below are ‘beautiful.’ Sisters, this bill is AWFUL and will cause a lot of harm to us, our families, and the communities we care about so deeply. You remember the chant, “Stop the Steal!” Well, those words apply to what is happening today in the U.S. Congress.

The House of Representatives’ budget proposal means DRASTIC cuts to Medicaid and other human services programs that serve low-income children, families, and communities. They are literally proposing to steal from the poor and give it to the rich. The bill was so bad that they voted on it during the wee hours of the morning when no one was awake to witness their actions, as if that would prevent us from learning about their HORRIBLE bill.

Any day now, the U.S. Senate will vote on its version of the bill. They changed the rules so that they only need 51 votes (instead of the normal 60) to pass their bill. We MUST take action today to let them know we DO NOT approve of either budget proposal! Your Senators need to hear LOUD AND CLEAR that you want them to take both versions of the so-called Big Beautiful Bill and GO BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD.

Let them know that you are one of their constituents, and any budget proposal that will gut Medicaid, Medicare, SNAP (food stamps), and dozens of other programs that help the poor.

Do not be fooled when they say their bills will not lead to millions without health care, grandma’s social security check shrinking, and a host of other programs that will steal from the poor to give the rich a big fat tax cut. Even Republican Senator Rand Paul says the math is not mathing!

You have one task this week: call your 2 U.S. Senators and tell them what you think about the big beautiful bill. Sisters, you should be VERY CONCERNED about this bill and what it means for us and our country. You must use your voice to stop the Senate from passing this bill. Use the script below when you make your calls. Don’t forget to let WE CAN know if you made your calls, so we can have a count of how many Sisters raised their voices.

We need policies that help families thrive, not legislation that takes healthcare and food off the table. Please reject this bill and protect the health, dignity, and economic security of all Americans.
