SUMMARY:WE CAN Decide: 2026 Maryland State Candidates Forum
DESCRIPTION:Meet the Candidates: 2026 Maryland Statewide Candidate Forum\nWednesday, October 28, 2026 | 6:30 – 9:30 pm EST – Please note the end time may change and will be communicated in advance.\nOn November 3, Maryland voters will choose a Governor, an Attorney General, and a Comptroller. Those three offices decide how our state’s dollars are spent, how our laws are enforced, and how our communities are treated — for the next four years.\nBefore you fill out your ballot, hear directly from the people asking for your vote.\nJoin us for a virtual forum where candidates for all three statewide offices will introduce themselves, share their platforms in their own words, and take live questions from Marylanders. No spin, no surrogates — the candidates, on the record, answering to us.\nEvery candidate has been asked to respond to the same three questions:\n\nWhat is your plan to put Marylanders’ safety, well-being, and economic security above politics?\nWhat is your vision for our state, and how will you work to ensure it for all Marylanders if you are elected?\nWhat are the top three things we should hold you accountable for if elected to the office you seek?\n\nThen the floor opens. Bring your questions about the issues your family and community are living with right now — federal funding cuts, the cost of living, health and education disparities, and the impact of data centers and artificial intelligence in our state.\nWe’re planning for 3,000 Marylanders to be in the room. Make sure you’re one of them.\nRegister now — and bring a friend, a sister, a neighbor, and your group chat.\n\nThis forum is nonpartisan. All declared candidates for Governor, Attorney General, and Comptroller have been invited to participate. WE CAN, or any of its co-sponsors, does not support or oppose any candidate for public office.\n\nSponsored by:\nThe Women’s Equity Center and Action Network (WE CAN) and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® – Upsilon Epsilon Omega Chapter\nCo-sponsored by the following chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®:\nEpsilon Omega · Xi Omega · Delta Sigma Omega · Theta Omega Omega · Iota Gamma Omega · Iota Lambda Omega · Nu Zeta Omega · Xi Delta Omega · Xi Sigma Omega · Omicron Gamma Omega · Kappa Theta Omega · Rho Xi Omega · Upsilon Tau Omega · Chi Theta Omega · Psi Epsilon Omega · Psi Phi Omega · Omega Eta Omega · Omega Pi Omega · Alpha Alpha Lambda Omega · Alpha Alpha Sigma Omega · Alpha Beta Gamma Omega · Alpha Gamma Chi Omega · Alpha Gamma Omega Omega\nAnd by:\nJack and Jill of America, Inc., Greater Suburban Maryland Chapter · The Links, Incorporated, Baltimore Chapter\nDemocracy works when people show up. Let’s show up on October 28 — and again on November 3!\n
